Twin Wednesday- Flashback

Viv and I have a long history of taking outfit pictures.  When Viv and I were little our granny used to send us clothes and we would model them, our mama would take pictures, and then we'd send them to Granny. I remember she used to send super frilly dresses that we'd wear for pictures and then they would just end up in the back of the closet and we would find them years later with the tags still on. In the top picture we are modeling some German outfits our Omi sent to us. And in the bottom picture you can see we're on trend with our bows in our hair and peter pan collars.

Birthday Girls

Hope you all had a good weekend. Viv and I celebrated our birthday and hung out with friends and family. Viv and I started a birthday tradition a few years ago. Birthday girls get to wear birthday crowns! This year we made flower crowns, better than our usual plastic sparkly ones I think.

SUMMER

I have been loving everything lace lately and I found this skirt at a down east clearance sale. It was a size xxxxxl or something, but since it's a simple a-line and a big elastic waist band with no zippers or buttons I bought it anyway and took it in.  

Do you have any big plans for the first official weekend of summer?  I do!  In case you missed the past two blog post where I talked about my birthday... it's my birthday!!! I loooove birthdays, and I think mine is especially great.  It's right around the first day of summer, and almost exactly half way around the year from Christmas, and I have a twin so we can celebrate together!

One of those Days

Today I broke a glass doing dishes.  That's itself is not that bad.  Today I grabbed the wrong end of my curling iron (that had been plugged in for quite a while).  Today my computer died.  I sure am glad days like this are few and far between.  I'm also glad I have five more of those glasses, my hand will heal, and my computer is still covered under Apple Care, so as soon as I figure out how I can back up my dead computer I can get it fixed.

One a side note the purse I'm wearing here is a birthday present from Suz! Our birthday is on Saturday and since we are terrible at surprises we exchanged gifts already.  Happy birthday week to us!

Friday Finds - Birthday Edition!

Viv and I have a birthday coming up! Here are a few things on my wish list this year:

1. I have a trusty brown shoulder bag that I use for everything - school books, road trips, flights, camping, everything! It's on it's last breaths of life and I want a cute backpack to replace it. I love this one from Urban Outfitters.

2. One day when I have a house I want a plate gallery on my kitchen wall. Jordan and I love to forage for mushrooms so I think this one from Anthropologie would be perfect.

3. I think all of these polishes from essie are great! This summer I want purple, peach, mint, and light grey.

4. I kitten!!! This is really number one on my list. Any kitty will do. I am not picky.

5. A sheep skin rug from Ikea.

6. I really want a bench/storage thing to sit at the bottom of my bed.  I LOVE the print of this one from Target.

Jordan, I hope you're taking good notes.

I like red pants

My brain is tired today so I can't think of anything interesting to write about.  I, like Suz, have been watching a lot of Design Star (and Secrets from a Stylist and reading Emily Henderson's design blog) so I have been non-stop designing my dream home in my mind.  It's quite fun.  Now I really want to buy a pretty rug for the house with nice wooden floors that I don't have.

Oh This is Awkward

Viv has done it again to me. She introduced me to HGTV Design Star. Have any of you seen it? I hadn't seen it before and there is season currently going and ALL of the previous seasons are posted online.  I only started watching this weekend and I'm already at the end of season two.  Woops. Do you have any T.V. addictions? I get sucked in to reality T.V. competitions like Top Chef, Survivor, and Next Foodnetwork Star.

Here's a simple outfit for your Monday. Nothing that exciting, but I do really like this dress because it has sleeves, it's knee length, and it has pockets!

Summertime is snocone time

If there's one thing I love about summer it's snocones.  Like I've said before, my house gets waaaay too hot in the months of summer.  To survive the heat Jensen and I get snocones to cool us down a few times a week.  This weekend Suz and I treated our selves to their deliciousness together. Yum!

Friday Finds - Bikes!

One of my favorite things about summer is biking! Viv and I are both into biking and I bike all year long but nothing beats biking in the summer. Here are some great bike finds:

1 - This great bike helmet from nutcase. It's great to look cute and be safe.

2 - Here's a cute bike print from Visual Republic. Viv and I think it looks like us :)

3 - I love this necklace from Rachel Pfeffer Designs. I do have a birthday coming up...

4 - I'm a sucker for quirky socks and these are pretty great.

I got your back

Jordan and I live in a little basement close to campus in Provo. I'm not a huge fan of the place because its a little wet and dark but mostly becauase the landlords are super lame (they live in the main floor of our house). Sometimes I think Jordan is too nice and I just want to tell them how it is. Here are some things they have done.

-The other day landlord man took the garbage cans out and knocked my precious bike over and didn't pick it up. I wrote a nasty note and Jordan wouldn't let me give it to him.

-Yesterday was pretty windy here and some trash blew into the yard. Today when landlord man cut the grass he put the trash on top of Jordan's motorcycle assuming that it was ours. Seriously!? Jordan won't let me leave it on their porch.

-A couple months ago our basement flooded. Only landlord lady was home. I could hear her upstairs and after I banged on the door for 10 minutes she finally answered. I very specifically told her DO NOT flush the toilet, DO NOT run the sink, DO NOT take a shower. I went downstairs and mopped up and not even an hour later I hear the shower running. And it flooded again.

-And one last thing that I just think is really funny.  A few days ago Jordan and I were hanging out and heard some cat/dog noises coming from the backyard. We sneakily opened the window to check it out and the neighbor's cat was fighting with the landlord's dog (who's name is Prada bytheway). Landlord man comes storming out of the house with a BB gun and shoots the cats and then proceeds to tell his wife how the cats were ganging up on the dog and that one of the cats charged while the first cat was getting the dog. He said some other really funny stuff but before he went in he says and I quote. "Prada, go pee now.  It's okay Prada, I got your back."

Summer has arrived in full force.  I live in the upstairs of a duplex with no air conditioning, so when it's 97 degrees outside it's about 95 inside.  It's making me so lazy.  Jensen and I have been getting snow cones every night after dinner and I come home and just lay around in front of the fan.  It also makes me dress really boring.  I just want to wear the least amount of clothes I can get away with.  What do you wear in the summer to keep your outfits more exciting?

Can you believe it's already June? I still feel like we just got back from Christmas break and winter semester just started.

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? Jordan and I are in Vegas because his little brother is down here for a car show. I plan on shopping with Jordan's mom and laying out by the pool. Hope you have a great Saturday!
