I'm wearing a hat

sweater and hat: target, pants: h&m, shirt and shoes: old navy
Hello friends!  Happy Monday.  I'm not sure if any of you have noticed but about 90% of my clothes come from Gap, Old Navy, Target, with H&M and Forever 21 thrown in occasionally, and J Crew if I can find a good deal.  This is mostly because I'm cheap and those three stores have the best sales.  What are your favorite stores to shop at for clothes?

Ready for Spring

blazer: target, shirt, pants and shoes: old navy
I'm one of the rare people in the world who love winter.  I looove snow, snowboarding, boots, scarves, and layers so I usually welcome it with open arms.  For the first time that I can remember I am anxiously waiting for spring to arrive this year.  Since I was pregnant most of winter I didn't get to enjoy any snowboarding, and now with a new baby I feel trapped inside with the colder weather.  I should probably enjoy the more wintery weather while it lasts though because summer and I don't get along too well.  I am not a fan of heat (and sweating!).

Wardrobe Staple

blazer and booties: target, jeans: f21, scarf: gift from mama
Target's clothing clearance section has sucked me in far too many times lately.  My last trip to target had me leaving the store with this black blazer along with a few other items.  Occasionally I regret my clearance purchases a few weeks later, but I think this blazer is going to be a new staple in my wardrobe.  And it was only $10!  Have you made any good (and cheap!) purchases lately?

Valentine

shirt: macy's, shoes/jacket: target, pants: h&m, pin: bando

How do you all feel about dressing for holidays? I used to hate holiday themed outfits, but within the last couple of years I've grown to love them.  I think my dream Valentine's outfit would have looked something like this or this and not so blue, but I didn't really have something to dress up for.  I did wear my bando pin to make my outfit a little more festive though.

Jordan and I kept the day pretty low-key.  I really wanted PF Changs so we dressed up a little-nicer-than-usual and headed to the mall. When we got there the wait was supposed to be three and a half hours!! So crazy! I called around a few other places and the wait times seemed about the same. I guess that's what you get for not making reservations for Valentine's Day in Provo. We meandered the mall for about an hour and decided to check PF Changs again.  When Jordan asked how much longer our wait would be, the hostess was a little rude (thinking we were being impatient or something) but really we just wanted to know if the wait was actually going to be three and a half hours. We didn't imagine that everyone they talked to would wait around for food.  She must have felt bad for being rude and got us a table super quick! I guess it pays to be persistent.  Hope you all had a great Valentine's and are enjoying our spring weater!

Love Day Date

shirt: target, jeans: h&m, shoes: forever young
I wore this outfit for my Valentine's date with my hubby for our first time out together (besides doctor's appointments) since the babe.  Dunken came along of course and enjoyed every minute of it asleep in his car seat.  He's a real party animal. :)  We went out to dinner with some friends who were in town and came home to celebrate a romantic evening while I took a bath and went to bed early and Jensen played video games.  Looks like we're party animals just like Dunken.

Goodbye Belly!

dress and sweater: target, boots: forever young
Hello there! Here's the last of my belly photos.  I still can't believe I'm a mom!  I'm sure it will take a while for this to sync in, but I am so excited for what my future holds.  And on a less serious note I'm so excited to have my clothes back!  Even though most of them don't quite fit yet, (hello big boobs! and squishy post baby belly) I still have a lot more options than before.

I hope everyone out there getting snow storms this week are surviving and staying warm.  I'll be caved up in my house for the next little while in sweats cuddling my baby. :)

Dunken James

I have an exciting interruption to the normal outfit posts... a beautiful baby! Dunken James Paterson arrived a few weeks early last Wednesday and we could not be more excited.  He weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and 20.5 inches long.  He's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen and I could not be more in love with my little boy.

Blue Dress

dress: asos, sweater: f21, boots: gift from mama
Hello! Those of you who had a long weekend I hope it was awesome! I was stuck working, but working on a holiday for me means extra pay and (usually) a slow day, so I can't complain.

Asos had a huge sale a little while ago, so I ordered myself a few dresses with Christmas money, even though they barely fit me.  Which is another plus to having a twin.  I had Suz try them on for me to make sure they would fit post baby :).  And speaking of baby... I reached 37 weeks on Tuesday! That is a little terrifying to me.  I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to have a baby join my family, but in 3 weeks or less he will be here. eep!

Crunch Time

shirt and boots: target, pants: urban outfitters, coat: old navy, scarf: gift, sweater: jcrew outlet

At at the very end of finishing my Master's Degree and that's all that consumes my brain these days.  Even though I'm at the "end" I think I have the most left to do. I hope my brain can take a break and enjoy the holiday on Monday.  Do you have any holiday plans?

Mustard cardigan

cardigan: loft outlet, shirt: old navy, jeans: h&m maternity, boots: target
Mustard cardigans are probably one of my favorite things to wear.  They're like the grey v-neck of layering to me. I had two that were several years old and almost reaching the end of their life.  I've been on the hunt for a good mustard cardigan for what seems like ages, and finally found this one at Loft! (And then found another like a week later at Target on clearance for $7, so I had to get that one too).  What's your favorite go to item?

PS. Suz took these photos in approximately .2 seconds because it was cold, so the photos that actually show my face are a little scary :).
