Girl's Camp

Provo is pretty hot these days and I've forgotten what to do with my hair in the heat. I shower in the morning, let it air dry, and then throw it up in a pony. What do you guys do with your hair in the summer to beat the heat?

I was excited for this copy cat, because with out finding the original on Pinterest I don't think I would have paired this blouse and skirt, but I really like the way it looks!

Sun burn

Happy dot week everyone! We hope you all join us and link up with your outfits!

I went to the local water park a few days ago. It was my first time going this year, and the first time being out in the sun for that long. I made sure to lather up with the good stuff before I showed my ghostly self to the world. I brought a little quilt to lay down on the grass with. Well, freshly applied sunscreen + sweaty legs + quilts apparently don't go well together. Wherever my legs touched the quilt, the sunscreen got rubbed off. Except the quilt had a design stitched all over it. The sunscreen for some reason did not rub off where the swirly stitching was. Now my legs have a nice swirly design.

Friday Finds Mustard Yellow

Mustard Yellow is not a new love of mine, and I don't see it going away any time soon. Here's a few mustard finds I wish I could get my hands on!

These shoes from Anthropologie with their scalloped edges and ribbon ties are to die for.

I'm so ready for fall to come so I can wear scarves and layers. I wouldn't mind this one from Mod Cloth.

A colorful pencil skirt is on my list of the next purchases I want to make, and this yellow one from J Crew might be the one I get.

If you want to add some color and pattern to your home this lamp shade from Target would be a great and pretty inexpensive way to do so.

Even though this DIY from Design Sponge can be done in any color, I think the yellow felted balls look so good!

Raspberry Refresher

Without Viv and her nice camera with me, I had my ~~impatient~~ cute husband take pictures for me today with my phone. The following are the results:

We took these on our way out of the house for our date night! I convinced Jordan to go to the mall and try and find some clothes for himself. He sure needs them. Afterwards we went to the creamery. Below you can see Raspberry Refreshers. If you are in the Provo area I highly recommend them! But I'm not sure what we were thinking by getting two. Mine is sitting in the freezer now not even half eaten, they are pretty intense; I'm pretty sure there are about six scoops of ice cream in those things.

Viv has to get some maintenance work done on her house by her landlord. She isn't allowed to have cats (and she has one... shhhhh). So I've been babysitting her (the cat, not Viv) for a couple of days. Jordan is allergic to cats and said Pigeon (the cat) is only allowed to stay in the bathroom. She looked sad in there so I have since moved her into our spare bedroom, but she still looks sad and scared. Poor Pigeon has found some refuge on our storage shelf on top of my fabric pile.

Here's what the poor thing does all day:

Stares wide-eyed into nothingness. Hopefully she'll warm up to the house soon.

Raindrops keep falling on my head

I've been loving this raining weather we've been having these past few days. It gives me time to relax and hang out inside without feeling guilty because I should be outside enjoying the sun. And the best part is my house isn't a million degrees!

Independence Day

I hope you all had a great 4th! Suz and I celebrated by riding our bikes around on the night of the 3rd until we couldn't ride any more. For those of you who were out on the streets of University Avenue in Provo and saw the giant group of bikers... we were with them! On the Fourth we went swimming, went to a barbecue and ate lots of yummy food, made 4th of July crowns, watched the fireworks, and more bike riding! The rest of the week we may or may not be back to business as usual. Suz and I are both going out of town for the next couple of days to do some field work. While in the field we'll be dressed anything but outfit post worthy.
