Speaking in Church

shirt: modbe, skirt: walmart, boots and belt: thrifted, tights: ae (gift)
Sunday Jensen and I spoke at church.  There's not much that makes me more nervous than speaking in public, so I was not looking forward to it.  I'm no good at writing down main points or ideas and telling stories with just a guideline.  Even my own person stories I like to write down, so when I get nervous and flustered I can just read everything.  I had been writing my talk on my iPad notes app.  About thirty minutes before church I deleted my talk.  Deleted my talk!!  I don't understand why they would have an app that lets you delete things so easily, without asking if you're sure.  After deleting my talk I cried and panicked a little.  Then I rewrote my talk as fast as my fingers could type.  But all is well.  I survived giving my talk, and I don't think anyone could even tell I wrote it in thirty minutes.
PS This whole outfit (including belt and boots) only cost $30!

  1. That is terrifying! I'm the same way with my talks, if I deviate from what I've written I start making up words and saying words that don't fit in that sentence. It's bad news. So glad it went well. You look adorable in polka dots and plaid!

  2. Such a good Wal-Mart find! My husband inspects Wal-Marts all across Iowa. My son and I travel with him, so we're in them a lot. They have a lot of hidden treasures.

  3. omg! Is that skirt new?? I love the shape of it!!!! i sooo need to go get it

and good job speaking! it's always so scary! ahha

  4. I have a twin too! I just love your blog! I just wanted to drop by and let you know that I nominated you for the Liebster Award! You can go check out my blog for details!

  5. I avoid public speaking as much as possible, so I can understand how that would be a drag. Good job doing it! Love your boots and skirt here - especially the boots, since I can't find ones I like anywhere!
