I am a baby. And cry way to easy about everything.  My cat is sick and I'm way more worried than I should be.  I'm having trouble finding a vet I can take her to because of my work schedule, and when I thought I would have to wait over a week to get her in on a Saturday (because everyone is full this weekend already) I cried.  I know it's silly, but I can't help it.  I'm also pretty confident that I'm going to be a crazy worrisome mom one day since I'm like this about my kitty.

Speaking in Church

Sunday Jensen and I spoke at church.  There's not much that makes me more nervous than speaking in public, so I was not looking forward to it.  I'm no good at writing down main points or ideas and telling stories with just a guideline.  Even my own person stories I like to write down, so when I get nervous and flustered I can just read everything.  I had been writing my talk on my iPad notes app.  About thirty minutes before church I deleted my talk.  Deleted my talk!!  I don't understand why they would have an app that lets you delete things so easily, without asking if you're sure.  After deleting my talk I cried and panicked a little.  Then I rewrote my talk as fast as my fingers could type.  But all is well.  I survived giving my talk, and I don't think anyone could even tell I wrote it in thirty minutes.

I found this picture through pinterest and now I have a new blog to read and drool about (check it out).  I love this picture for a few reasons: 1) the blog is called Kittenhood so what's not to love about that, 2) she is adorable and so is her outfit, 3) wildlife conservation is my major and when I went to school at BYU-Idaho I used to work at a wildlife museum!

This isn't as much of a copy cat as an inspiration (and her version is so cute!).  I made this dress for Christmas and wasn't sure how to style it to not look so Christmas-ey.  I love the look of light grey tights with the red!

One of my new years resolutions was to watch less tv and read more books.  Already I find myself watching more and more Netflix (dang Bones!) and reading less.  Anyone have any good book recommendations   I just finished The Book of a Thousand Days and I loved it!

Even though Viv and I don't live with each other anymore, we still like to get advice on what to wear.  In Teaka's  post the other day we mentioned that half of the pictures on our phone are outfits we've sent to each other.  He are a few that I've sent to Viv in the past couple weeks.  Please excuse the messy house in the background :)

Sorry for the awkward indoor pics.  It was just so cold outside!  Did you all enjoy your Martin Luther King Day? I had the day off so I spent it making a tutu! I followed the tutorial on Cotton and Curls. I'll be sure to wear it and post pictures soon! I also make lots of Valentines Day decorations! And I will be sure to show those off too!

Twin Tuesday

It's been a while since we've had a Twin Tuesday! And this still isn't our normal Twin Tuesdays.  This week we're featured over at Life Like Honey! Locked Out

Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was quite eventful. Saturday morning I got a hair cut and ran some errands. On they way home I stopped for some Chinese food planning to go home and eat it and spend the rest of my Saturday perfectly lazy.  And then I realized I locked myself out of my car.  

My husband and Suz were both about 40 minutes away from me, and my house only about 10 minutes, so  through the magic of Facebook I got a ride from a lady in my neighborhood (who I've never met before) to my house.  When she pulled into my driveway I realized I was also locked out of my house.  Then I cried.

After trying to unsuccessfully break into my house and waiting a while at the nice stranger's house she finally just took me all the way to Jensen's work and I hung out with my sister until he was off.

Can I just say how grateful I am for the kindness of strangers, and that I didn't also lock my phone in the car.

You guys it's Friday, which means I get to wear jeans to work and more importantly don't have to work for the next two days. And it's a winter wonderland outside here! Let's all celebrate.

 I feel like this outfit is a little boring. Oh well.  I wore it hanging out with Viv last Saturday and to go to Ikea!

This semester I TA ornithology.  I have to teach the weekly labs and go on field trips. Mostly I'm excited, but I'm so nervous to teach! I feel like I hardly know anything myself.  We had our first lab today, but the professor taught. Next week we have a field trip so I still have two weeks to try and get rid of the nerves.  Eek!!

I was a little unsure about the pink orange blazer pink orange lips combo because I though I looked a little too 80s, but decided to go with it anyway.  I think my husband even liked until he put his arm around me a church and felt my shoulder pads.  Then he wouldn't stop calling me his football player :)

last first day

Yesterday was my first last day of school! I have a busy semester coming and I'm nervous, but I know I always survive the semester.  I won't be graduating until August (fingers crossed) because I still have a lot of research and writing to do! I hope everyone starting school agian has a good first week back!

Happy New Year!!!

Jordan and I brought in the new year in California. We head back to Utah tomorrow. I am actually excited to get back to my own home and the snow!! Not as excited for school to start up again. I have a hard semester coming.  

Do you have any resolutions or goals? I have a few. One goal this year is to graduate with my masters! Woo hoo!
