Friday Finds Forest Friends

With fall fast approaching I am excited for cooler weather and to wear layers again!  Because of the changing leaves in fall it reminds me of foresty things and forest animals, so for this week's Friday Finds I thought I'd share some cute fox and deer finds.

I- Vintage Porcelin Deer- I think he belongs in my Christmas decorations.

II- Zara Fox Print Top I love animal print tops, and this one is no exception

III- Bike Fox Handwarmers- Suz rides her bike every day to school, even in the winter.  These hand warmers would be so fun to wear on chilly fall mornings!

Here's an outfit I wore while we were in Coeur d'Alene.  I think Coeur d'Alene is the land of thrift stores.  Within a three block area there are probably ten stores.  While we were there one of the stores was having a sale. You got to stuff a paper bag as full as you could and everything inside was only $7.  This bag was one of the items we found!  Viv and I shared a bag and I looked at the tags when I got home and added everything up. With my $3.50 I spent I got around $30 of stuff.  Pretty sweet!

Other new things happening lately: school started Monday. I am taking a bunch of thesis credits (I will write and do research) and a sewing class! It's a beginners clothing construction class and I am really excited! I talked to my adviser yesterday and my plan is to graduate in May. Crazy! Jordan and I also moved into a new house!

Hope everyone has a good long weekend! Jordan and I are going to a mountain man rendezvous in Wyoming. It is as awesome as it sounds.

Here's another super simple outfit for ya. A guess a v-neck t and a skirt is hard to beat in the heat of summer.  Is anyone else as ready for fall as me?  I miss my cardigans. (and scarves, and boots, and tights), but it's just around the corner! The trees at the tops of the mountains here are already changing colors a little and I couldn't be more excited!

If you're wondering who joined me for these photos, it's my dog Kodi.  Suz and I got him for our 12th birthday.  He still looks like my puppy to me, but he's getting up there in doggy years.  84 I think?

Back in Business

I'm back from my vacation. It was great! But it's good to be home again too.  I also think my kitty would have died of loneliness if we were gone any longer.  We had some friends of ours checking on her every night, but she was still alone during the day.  After we got home last night she followed me around everywhere and would not stop meowing.  She even woke us up about five times during the night meowing, probably paranoid that we were going to abandon her again.

I got this skirt from jcrew a few weeks ago. I've been eying their colorful pencil skirts for a while now, and they finally went on sale cheap enough for me to afford!

And since I'm linking up to Wonderlust Wednesdays something new I tried last week was wake boarding while visiting my dad in Idaho.  It was so fun and tiring.  I even got like an inch of air when I was trying to jump the wake. :)

Our first night in Couer D'Alene, Viv and I, along with our husbands, walked along the boardwalk at the lake. It is the world's longest floating boardwalk! CDA is definitely one of my favorite places to visit.  Beautiful lakes, boating, mountains, perfect weather, oh yeah, and family too :)

A Little Vacation

Sorry for our absence lately.  Suz and I have been in Coeur d'Alene Idaho visiting my dad for the last few days.  We've spent most of our time here out at the lake and sitting around the house and eating lots of food, all of which don't require getting dressed.  Here's a look at what we did wear while we were here. :)

12 Years Old

Last week I got braces! I worked at a BBQ restaurant with Viv a while back and people used to ask us what high school we went to. And we would say, actually we're seniors at BYU. Now people are really going to think I'm a little girl.

Home Again

I'm home from girl's camp now and it's so nice to sleep in my own bed and see my husband again.  And to watch Olympics again!  I was going into withdrawals from missing a whole five days of them last week.  It's ok to watch 6 hours of tv a day as long as it's the Olympics right?
